Environmental Impacts of Aquaculture
Editorial Reviews
Review
"Environmental impacts of aquaculture have become widely recognized. In this volume, nine invited papers by authors from the UK and four other countries review what has been learned and suggest mitigation measures. Four chapters examine environmental impacts of producing finfish and shellfish in marine net pens, freshwater cages, and ponds. Chapters also address tank culture and recirculating systems, genetic impacts, modeling ecological effects, aquaculture as a component of integrated coastal zone management, and sustainability of aquaculture. These critical reviews will be of greatest interest to aquaculture scientists and to public sector planners and regulators." - American Fisheries Society, June 12, 2001 Promo Copy
