Angri-Environmental Law and Policy
Editorial Reviews
Journal of Environmental Law, Vol II, No I, 1999.
... well presented and researched ... The aims of the authors, to place agriculture in its wider environmental context, have been well accomplished and the work should be of interest to both practitioners and researchers ... Hawke and Kovaleva have provided an admirable survey of the state of play.
Book Description
The book has three main objectives: to show the development of the Common Agricultural Policy and the status of environmental priorities in agriculture; to analyse the implementation of the relevant Agri-Environmental law and policy in the United Kingdom; and to examine those other areas of Agri-Environmental law which are not tied to subsidies and production quotas in agriculture. Overall, the book takes a critical look at the often controversial relationship between the supply control mechanisms of agricultural policy and the environmental priorities of landscape protection and pollution control.
