This book provides a landmark in the evolution of a distinctive movement, perhaps even an emerging new philosophy within the practice of headwater management. The headwater control movement began in 1989 and has remained a typical environmental movement, in the sense of being ad hoc, multidisciplinary, integrative, practical, interventionist and, above all, `green'.
