Editorial Reviews
Book Description
How much could our pets, or even livestock tell us "if only we would listen"? Quite a lot according to Julie Bristow, especially when illness strikes and breaks down the normal barriers.

These stories, collected over a period of 13 years, will make you laugh and cry as you discover, along with the author, the depth of courage, compassion, and endurance in a herd of dairy goats.

About the Author
Born in Great Britain, Julie Bristow moved to Australia during her nurse's training while in her twenties. She finished her training there, and worked for 5 years before ill health forced her to quit.

While living on Phillip Island, south of Melbourne, she met up with the others from the book and they decided to have a try at self-sufficiency in Tasmania. The goats soon dominated her interest, and she and two others started the dairy featured in these stories.

Julie still has about 14 goats. The last of the goats from the book was Tintalle, who died at age 14. Baathilda, the sheep, was the very last animal from that time. She died recently at age 18.
