Book Description
This GEMS unit_with accompanying CD-ROM_begins with a mystery. A series of alarming events takes place. Power outages, loss of cellular phone communication, strange glowing lights in the sky. The "culprit" is the Sun. Students learn how this is possible through mock scientific missions, learning of UV radiation and the protective powers of the atmosphere. Expertise provided by NASA_s Sun-Earth Connection Education Forum. Living with a Star addresses numerous national standards in earth and physical science.
