Dosage: Pedigree and Performance
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
Originator of the contemporary Dosage system, Steve Roman, Ph.D., has written the definitive book on the subject. Although originally devised as a breeding theory, Dosage has evolved into a pedigree classification technique used by owners, breeders and handicappers to buy, breed and bet on the best. Roman's research and development of the roster of chefs-de-race, those prepotent sires that have shaped the breed, has changed the way Thoroughbreds are bred, bought and sold.
About the Author
Steve Roman earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Columbia University. He is the author of 53 U.S. patents for agricultural and animal health products and processes. His 30-plus years of hands-on involvement with horses includes the breeding, raising, training and exhibiting of Morgan and Pinto show horses as well as the ownership of Thoroughbred racing and breeding stock. Although recognized primarily for the development of contemporary Dosage theory, Dr. Roman's research also focuses on the details of Thoroughbred performance.
