About the Author
Michael Cain received his Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Cornell University and taught introductory biology at New Mexico State University and the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for thirteen years. He is now writing full-time and is affiliated with Bowdoin College in Maine. Hans Damman received his Ph.D. in Entomology from Cornell University and taught biology courses at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, for many years. He currently works as an environmental scientist at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Robert Lue received his Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from Harvard University, where he has taught introductory biology since 1988. He is currently the Dean of the Summer School and the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Biological Sciences at Harvard. Carol Kaesuk Yoon received her Ph.D. in biology from Cornell University and has been writing about biology for the New York Times since 1992. Her articles have also appeared in the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and Science magazine. Richard Morel is a freelance science writer and developmental editor in the fields of biology, chemistry, and biochemistry. He did graduate work in Biology at Harvard University and has held positions as Curatorial Associate in Entomology at Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology and Research Associate in Chemistry at Smith College.
